Welder - Mig And Flux Cored Arc Welding

Join our team as a welder, where you will play a crucial role in the construction of large structures across the country. You will spend the majority of your day welding plates to beams and columns using flux-core and MIG welding techniques on rails and stairs. Your work will contribute to the creation of structures that stand the test of time.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform MIG and flux cored arc welding on structural steel components.
• Weld plates to beams and columns for large construction projects.
• Ensure precision and accuracy in welding to meet structural standards.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints and weld symbols.
• Utilize tape measures accurately for welding tasks.

Essential skills:

• 1+ years of experience in MIG welding and flux cored arc welding (FCAW) or equivalent schooling.
• Proficiency in reading welding blueprints and weld symbols.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

Additional skills and qualifications:

• Experience in structural steel fabrication and detailing is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Work environment:

Work in a large steel mill environment during the 1st shift from 5:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday, and 5:30am to 3:00pm on Friday, totaling a mandatory 49-hour workweek. The facility is equipped for grand-scale structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication. Dress code is appropriate for a steel mill setting, focusing on safety and functionality.

Job type and location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of Somerset, Wisconsin.

Pay and benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
