Job Description

The Middle Market Executive Technology Underwriter for Private Equity is responsible for developing, growing, and maintaining a profitable book of technology Property & Casualty business focused on private equity-sponsored and PE-backed technology companies.

Responsibilities:

• Review, rate, underwrite, and evaluate PE-sponsored technology accounts.
• Assess sponsor track record, portfolio management practices, and common risk concentrations.
• Obtain necessary approvals and create/present tailored proposals.
• Demonstrate high responsiveness to Agents, Brokers, and Private Equity deal teams.
• Develop a strong personal brand in the PE ecosystem.
• Manage a sizable and complex book of PE-backed technology business.
• Document files to reflect thorough PE-centric thought processes and decision-making.
• Formally guide, mentor, and coach underwriters and account analysts in PE-specific technical and professional skills.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement by generating suggestions and participating in problem-solving.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive underwriting experience and/or other related business experience.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must demonstrate comprehension of most complex technical underwriting issues.
• Proven track record of developing and underwriting profitable business.
