Medical Support Assistant - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• Assists in reviewing patient information to help determine eligibility for care, rules and regulations, the service delivery areas, tribal membership, and residence.
• Assists in examining alternate resources for patients under the program and screens for patient eligibility through Medicare, Medicaid, Vocation Rehabilitation, V.A., private insurance, or other third-party programs.
• Assists in reviewing paper and electronic health records (i.e., scanned notes, reports, special tests, etc.), collects patient medical information, patient visits, and discharge dates to complete medical referrals and decisions of payments.
