Position Overview

As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in conducting laboratory tests that aid physicians in diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases. We are looking for a dedicated professional who aligns with our values of respect, integrity, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and values of Williamson Health in all dealings.
• Participate actively in departmental goals and hospital initiatives.
• Maintain patient safety by accurately identifying patients and labeling specimens.
• Perform high-complexity testing and maintain current knowledge of laboratory policies.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and physicians regarding critical lab values.
• Train new employees and students as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control measures.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent.
• Valid State of Tennessee Medical Technologist license.
• Laboratory experience preferred; Meditech experience a plus.

• Strong understanding of medical laboratory science.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficient computer skills and capable of critical thinking.

Physical Demands

This position involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases. Candidates should be able to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Flexibility in schedule and a willingness to work extra hours are essential due to staffing needs.
