Performs routine to highly complex medical laboratory tests in different areas of the lab. Responsible for one or more technical work areas including: oversight as a key operators, regulatory compliance, new method project plans, technical communications, and cost-effective inventory control. May be the document owner of technical procedures, forms, misc. documents, method validation, and implementation. Trains students and new employees, coordinates preceptor activity, participates in system competency development, and provides the direct observation of staff for the annual competency program. Functions as the site lab liaison to the systems Technical Specialist and serves as Charge Tech in the absence of Supervisor/Manager. CLIA Role: Testing Personnel Moderate complexity testing Testing Personnel High Complexity testing.

Principle Responsibilities

• Performs routine to highly complex laboratory procedures.
• Maintain safety, education, and competency requirements.
• Collection and processing of specimens.
• Customer service and patient order management.
• Administrative duties.
• CLIA defined responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a related laboratory field including clinical rotations or equivalent routes as specified in CLIA 88
• 3+ years of experience in high complexity laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience

Licenses/Certifications

• Possess or is eligible to receive appropriate HHS approved laboratory certification (ASCP or AMT). If not certified, must obtain certification within 180 days

Physical Demands

• Light Work:
• Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $33.49 to $45.90 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
