Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our surgical team. This role involves assisting with patient check-in and check-out, managing phone coverage, and supporting physicians during procedures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice, providing excellent care and support to our patients.

Responsibilities

  Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures.

  Handle phone coverage, including scheduling appointments, addressing clinical questions, and routing calls to the appropriate person.

  Room patients, including taking medical history, medication lists, and vitals, and chaperoning during procedures.

• n

  Scan documents and manage electronic filing.

  n

• n

  Verify insurance and collect insurance referrals.

  n

• n

  Prepare and maintain the schedule.

  n

• n

  Reprocess instruments as needed.

  n
n
• n

  Place orders and schedule testing.

  n

• n

  Assist with possible surgery-related tasks.

Essential Skills

n
• n

  Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a proctored test.

  n
n
• n

  BLS certification through the American Red Cross or Heart Association.

  n
n

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Epic software.
n

Work Environment

Our office operates like a small surgical private practice, ensuring a focused and collaborative environment. While we use a hub for pre-certifications and billing, all other tasks are managed in-house, providing a comprehensive and hands-on work experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
