Physicians Care is seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Assistant to enhance our healthcare team.

Physicians Care operates with 12 locations throughout Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, and is an affiliate of Urgent Team, a leading independent operator of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. We are proud to provide quality, accessible family healthcare at over 80 centers under multiple brands.

Our centers offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including injury and illness treatment, occupational health, and wellness care. We prioritize convenience with our seven-day-a-week operation: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each Physicians Care center is recognized as an Accredited Care Center by the Urgent Care Association for our commitment to safety, quality, and range of services.

Position Overview:
The Medical Assistant will provide essential clinical care to our patients, aligned with their medical training. While full-time positions involve a schedule of 36-40 hours per week with 12-hour weekday shifts and alternate weekends, the PRN (per diem) role offers flexible hours based on staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities embody the primary expectations for this role, but additional tasks may be assigned:

• Warmly greet patients upon arrival and guide them through our processes.
• Maintain effective communication with patients regarding wait times and next steps in their care journey.
• Address patient concerns promptly, identifying urgent situations that require escalation.
• Conduct follow-up calls with urgency and compassion.
• Assist front desk staff with patient check-in and check-out protocols as needed.
• Accurately record patient vital signs, weight, and relevant medical history, including medications and allergies.
• Support patient transfers as necessary.
• Assist providers with procedures under direct supervision.
• Ensure thorough documentation is completed according to established procedures for each patient visit.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred
• BLS Certification
