Medical Assistant

Job Summary Seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join a urology practice in Waltham, MA on a full-time contract basis. The ideal candidate will support clinical staff by providing high-quality patient care and ensuring efficient clinical operations.
Monday through Friday. Hours either 7:30-4:00 or 8:00 – 4:30. Key Responsibilities • Greet patients and families in the waiting area and escort them to exam rooms • Identify patients using two identifiers (name and date of birth) • Notify patients of any delays in appointment timing • Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, pain level, and allergies accurately • Ensure completion of pre-visit paperwork • Perform appropriate ancillary services such as urinalysis as directed by the physician • Collect, verify (using two identifiers), process, and document urine specimen results • Under physician direction, send specimens for culture, sensitivity, or cytology • Prepare for patient appointments by setting up necessary equipment, supplies, and documentation • Alert provider when the patient is ready and communicate all relevant clinical information • Assist patients with the check-out process • Clean and prepare exam rooms for the next patient Required Qualifications • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting • Excellent communication and patient interaction skills • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications • Previous experience in a urology practice Certifications • Medical Assistant Certification required • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required • COVID-19 vaccination required
