Mechanical Piping Foreman
As a working foreman you'll be joining a leading construction firm in the Charlotte, NC area, specializing in mechanical piping and HVAC systems. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of piping systems in the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct field staff in the installation of mechanical piping systems while ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Install and repair piping for chilled water, steam, and condensate systems.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend various sizes of pipe and tubing using specialized tools.
- Read and interpret pipe drawings and schematics to execute project plans.
- Perform welding on carbon steel pipe using MIG, TIG, or stick welding techniques.
- Conduct copper brazing for refrigerant piping and soldering for hydronic pipe.
- Assemble and install threaded black pipe for various mechanical systems.
- Develop material orders and takeoffs based on project plans and site conditions.
- Collaborate with crews to complete mechanical system installations efficiently.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- 10-20 years of industry related experience.
- Experience doing mechanical trade. Including but limited to the installation of mechanical and plumbing systems and pipefitting.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including chilled water, steam, and condensate piping operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to lead a team.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver"s license required.
