Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter specializing in SolidWorks to join our dynamic team in Westbrook, CT. As a key player in the design and development process, you will utilize your mechanical expertise and CAD proficiency to create detailed schematics and technical drawings that meet industry standards, including GD&T principles.

Responsibilities:

• Create fully defined and constrained 3D models from existing 2D drawings and views.
• Produce accurate and well-presented 2D drawings with minimal errors or typos.
• Calculate dimensions and standard allowances following established procedures and specifications.
• Accurately apply GD&T and perform multi-part tolerance stack-ups.
• Follow work instructions and procedures, interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

Essential Skills:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Education from a trade school in a relevant field.
• Experience in using 3D CAD software.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to proofread documents, mechanical drawings, and Bills of Material.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Trade certificate or associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Experience with PDM is preferred.
• Certified SolidWorks Professional is a plus.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Pay and Benefits:

$55000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
