Mechanical Assembler

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to work primarily with copper piping, utilizing an oxyacetylene torch for brazing. This role involves customizing units based on individual customer requirements, which includes cutting piping to length and assembling it according to blueprints. The position requires significant physical activity, such as bending, kneeling, and twisting, and involves the assembly of housing units for racks.

Responsibilities

• Perform brazing of copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch.
• Customize and assemble units according to customer-specific requirements and blueprints.
• Cut piping and insulation to the correct length using a tape measure.
• Assist in the assembly of housing units for racks.
• Engage in physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout the day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months of experience in mechanical assembly, complex machine operation, or construction.

• Experience in machinery repair or automotive work is advantageous.

Work Environment

The position is based in a large manufacturing building where units are built in teams of 3-4 people. The environment is fast-paced, well-lit, and maintained cleanly, although the nature of the work can be dirty. Working hours are from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm or 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are mandatory attire.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
