Materials Buyer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Materials Buyer to join our team. This role involves purchasing components for unique assemblies, including castings, machined components, and rubber o-rings. You'll work in a dynamic job shop environment characterized by high mix and low volume production. The position requires strategic purchasing of components with long lead times and unique specifications, and involves analyzing future manufacturing needs to plan production schedules based on delivery deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Purchase components for unique assemblies, such as castings, machined components, and rubber o-rings.
• Work in a high mix, low volume job shop environment.
• Plan and execute strategic purchases for components with long lead times.
• Analyze future manufacturing needs to determine strategic purchases.
• Plan production schedules based on delivery deadlines.
• Expedite and follow up with suppliers and customers to find resolutions.

Essential Skills

• Experience in buying and purchasing.
• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Experience in expediting and managing purchase orders.
• Knowledge of bill of materials (BOM), raw material, and inventory tracking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years of experience in a supply chain, purchasing, or planning role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• ERP or MRP experience (training on N4XA will be provided).
• Organized and detail-oriented.

This role involves working both in an office and on the manufacturing floor. It is a daily onsite position requiring 40 hours per week. You will receive daily direction from the supply chain manager.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract position based out of Painesville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
