Manufacturing Engineer - Metal Stamping
The Metal Stamping Engineer is crucial in enhancing our bearing manufacturing processes at our reputable manufacturing facility. This role demands a seasoned professional adept at applying advanced mechanical techniques to improve process flow, reduce costs, and boost productivity. The Engineer will be instrumental in equipment design and development, focusing on optimizing existing procedures and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Salary: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to optimize efficiency and enhance performance of Metal Forming equipment and processes.
Drive the design and development of tooling (Dies, punches, die-sets) and equipment tailored for manufacturing needs.
Lead troubleshooting and resolution of tooling issues in Metal forming processes to minimize downtime.
Perform analyses, calculations, and create precise engineering drawings for product designs.
Manage multiple projects independently, ensuring they align with the company's safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Offer ongoing support to engineering peers in manufacturing new or existing products, enhancing overall process quality.
Engage with team members across multiple departments to improve scrap reduction, productivity, and maintain quality standards using Lean tools.
Analyze process data comprehensively to develop solutions that enhance manufacturing performance.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that engineering designs meet all necessary requirements effectively.
Coordinate equipment trials, supervising installations both in-house and at supplier locations.
Provide mentorship to engineering technicians, interns, and junior team members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Work closely with Quality Engineering, production supervisors, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.
Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing lines, ensuring they meet all operational requirements.
Participate actively in the launch of new programs, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into current processes.
Provide daily engineering support to production teams, ensuring continuous operation and quality adherence.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3-5 years of experience in metal forming and press operation processes within a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Creo.
Strong project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
Excellent problem-solving skills using structured methodologies (5 Whys, 8D, etc.).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for efficient documentation and presentation.
Ability to navigate and succeed in a team-oriented environment, showing strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree or certifications related to manufacturing engineering or process optimization.
Proven track record of successful project leadership in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma certification.
Previous exposure to international manufacturing standards and global project management.
Effective communication and training skills, capable of educating and enhancing team capabilities.
