Job Description

As an Automation Engineer for Final Assembly, you will spearhead the identification and implementation of automation tooling solutions, working collaboratively with layout engineers to seamlessly integrate these solutions into cycle line layouts. Responsibilities

  Design, implement, and optimize automation cells to enhance manufacturing operations.

  Develop manufacturing process flows and optimization strategies to achieve efficiency improvements.

  Collaborate with key stakeholders to jointly address automation and processing issues.

• n

  Support tooling design and build processes through effective supplier interfaces.

  n

• n

  Study new programs and cost new automated cell standardized equipment.

  n
n
• n

  Develop tooling Statements of Work (SOW) and issue Purchase Orders (POs) for automated cell equipment.

• n

  Provide launch support for automation equipment.

  n
n
• n

  Create new standards for automation processes.

  n
n
• n

  Program and troubleshoot collaborative and industrial robots, incorporating robot simulation and path planning.

• n

  Facilitate design review sessions and lead PFMEA activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks.

  n

• n

  Prepare and deliver technical presentations for leadership and program team reviews.

  n
n
• n

  Collaborate with teams across various departments to define and validate requirements and KPIs for automated processes.

n

Essential Skills

n
• n

  Proven experience in manufacturing engineering and automation, including CAD design, robot programming, and tooling design.

  n

• n

  Proficiency in CAD software such as Inventor, CATIA, or similar.

  n
n
• n

  Experience with robot simulation and assembly automation.

  n
n
• n

  Strong problem-solving skills.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to work well with cross-functional teams to develop consensus.

  n
n

Additional Skills & Qualifications

n
• n

  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

  n
n
• n

  Familiarity with PLC Programming (Siemens and Allen-Bradley).

  n

• n

  Previous project management experience.

  n
n
• n

  Prototype design and development experience.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to program PLCs and work with Fanuc robotics.

  n

• n

  Experience working with Tier 1 OEM suppliers and partners.

  n
n
• n

  Manufacturing operations experience in general/final assembly.

  n
n

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $55.00/hr.
