In this position...

The responsibilities would also include characterization of electric machines, procedure development and verification, development of MATLAB models for controls design and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, vehicle benchmarking, leading control algorithm development and validation through dynamometer and vehicle testing. Additional responsibilities would include creation of and support for advanced data post-processing scripts, electric motor modeling and motor control requirements to achieve attribute balance while maintaining stable eMotor controls across the operating range of the vehicle.

What you'll do...

  Lead the development of electric machine and power electronics algorithm improving fuel economy, driving performance and NVH reduction

  n

  Lead the development of electric machine and power electronics control software tuning and the optimization for fuel economy and NVH

  n

• n

  Support hardware sensors, switching devices and passive components specification development

  n
n
• n

  Specify design verification methods and plan testing in HIL, electric motor dynamometer & Vehicle.

You'll have...

n
• n

  M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in electric machine drive control systems

  n
n
• n

  2+ years of motor control related working experience or advanced training in electric machine drive or power electronics controls design or development of calibration

  n
n
• n

  Working knowledge of electric motor modeling and control algorithm, simulation tools including MATLAB/SIMULINK

  n
n

  PhD in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with specialty in electric machine drive control systems

  n

• n

  Working knowledge of control system and software design, including C Programming language

  n
n
• n

  Experience with electric motor dynamometers, ATI Vision and hybrid vehicle operation is a plus

• n

  Course or training experience in electric machine design and modeling, discrete-time digital control and power electronics control
