American Medical Staffing (AMS) puts you first, and we are currently seeking an LPN to join our corrections medical team in Rustburg, Virginia. This is a minimum security male state prison with a maximum capacity of 153 inmates.

• Pay Rate: $1,253 to $1,453 per week
• Schedule: Rotating Weekly Schedule: Week 1 is 3 12's and 1 4-hour shift, Week 2 is 2 12-hour shifts and 2 8-hour shifts
• Available Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week
• Start Date: Two weeks of offer
• Located In: Rustburg, Virginia
• Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid LPN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse in a correctional care setting, you’ll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Responsibilities include:

• Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision on RNs or physicians.
• Monitoring patients vitals and symptoms—administering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
• Administer medications and injections as prescribed by a physician and monitor for adverse reactions to medications
• Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions as needed
• Documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timely
• Educating patients on self-care techniques and promoting health education within the correctional facility
