Position: Medical Lab Technician
Duration: Length: 13 weeks - Extension/Conversion: Possible, depending on performance and manager expectations
Location: Detroit, MI
Shift timing: 5pm - 1:30am
Required Skills:
• Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science, Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA)
• Minimum 2-3 years previous experience in this role or similar, Experience with Urinalysis and Coagulation testing
• Experience with manual differentials
• Experience with Beckman Coulter or Stago equipment (with DXU system experience preferred).
• Candidates with Sunquest LIS experience are preferred.
Job Summary:
• Under direct supervision by laboratory technologist, leader and/or supervisor, and according to defined protocols, performs select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems. May perform phlebotomy as needed.
