Litigation Paralegal

As a Paralegal, you will manage assigned cases and related tasks from inception through discovery, trial, post-trial proceedings, and closure. Your role involves supporting attorneys in various legal processes and ensuring compliance with firm standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting pleadings, routine motions, responses to discovery, subpoenas, and trial documents
• Preparing exhibits and assembling appendices for motions and appellate practice
• Assisting attorneys with document review and production, tracking production documents and status
• Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining case files
• Supporting deposition, mediation, and trial preparation
• Collaborating with e-discovery staff to manage electronic files
• Scheduling case-related tasks such as witness and expert interviews
• Entering billing and expense data into the firm system promptly
• Working overtime as required

Requirements:

• Must meet California Business & Professions Code 6450 requirements; bachelor's degree strongly preferred
• Knowledge of litigation lifecycle, including case management, document review, and trial experience
• Familiarity with state and federal court rules
• E-filing experience in state and federal courts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), WestLaw, and billing systems
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Superior client service skills
• Excellent judgment, decision-making skills, and teamwork orientation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone and email etiquette
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential documents and information
• Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to escalate issues to supervisors when necessary
