Litigation Associate

We are a well-established, client-focused law firm with a strong presence in Virginia, known for delivering strategic legal counsel and effective litigation services. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate to join our growing practice.

The ideal candidate will have 15 years of experience in general civil litigation and be licensed to practice in Virginia. This role involves handling cases from inception to resolution, including discovery, motion practice, court appearances, and trial preparation. You'll work on a wide range of litigation matters, including commercial disputes, personal injury, real estate, insurance defense, and more, depending on your experience and interests.

Key responsibilities include:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including court hearings, mediations, and depositions
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
• Manage case files and deadlines with minimal supervision

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Admitted and in good standing to practice law in Virginia
• 15 years of experience in general litigation (clerkship or similar legal experience may be considered)
• Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Courtroom experience a plus, but not required
