Litigation Associate

Well established mid-sized firm with close to 100 attorneys that focuses on insurance law matters.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing cases and conducting legal research to determine the best legal strategy.
• Drafting legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and briefs.
• Representing clients in court hearings, mediation, and arbitration.
• Negotiating settlements and advising clients on the potential outcomes of their case.
• Working with clients to gather evidence and prepare for trial.
• Communicating with opposing counsel, judges, and other parties involved in the case.
• Keeping abreast of changes in the law and legal trends that may affect their practice area.
• Managing a caseload and meeting deadlines for court filings and other legal requirements.
• Collaborating with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
• Upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• 3+ years’ experience working in a law firm or in-house within an insurance company.
• Legal analysis, reasoning and writing, including the ability to quickly integrate and synthesize facts and law to make legally sound decisions in compressed timeframes.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple work assignments and competing priorities concurrently.
