Life Safety/Security System Designer

Selectek is seeking an experienced Life Safety/Security System Designer for our partnering company near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This firm focuses on large-scale advanced manufacturing projects.

Employment Type: Contract (Expected 12 months+) Location: Pittsburgh, PA Expected Pay Range: $43.07-$60.09 per hour, based on certifications and experience

Job Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• At least 3-5 years' AutoCAD experience, (preferably Revit experience)
• Systems design experience with Security Surveillance, Access Control and Intrusion detection systems
• NICET Security certification.
• ASIS International Advanced Security Worldwide
• Manufacture's equipment certifications

Preferred:

• 3-5 years of systems design experience
• Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code
• Knowledge of Security systems and manufacturer's equipment
• Industrial design experience

In addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation

Job Duties:

• Perform computer-aided drafting and design of Life Safety and Security Systems for our client's advanced facilities.
• Our designers are responsible for the delivery of complex packages in coordination with multi-disciple engineers and design leads that form the core of our Life safety Systems delivery team.
• Utilizing AutoCAD and Revit MEP, you'll create a 3D model space in coordination with architects and engineers. From those 3D BIM models, you'll design Security Surveillance, Access Control and Intrusion detection systems.
• In addition to modeling work, our designers perform calculations, apply NFPA and ICC codes, and other standards to model content, and specify equipment at the direction of the engineering staff.
