Join our team as a Language Technology Solutions Developer! In this pivotal role, you will contribute to a dynamic language services program, focusing on the development and enhancement of Human Language Technology (HLT) applications. You will be instrumental in ensuring our projects align with corporate and customer goals while leading integration efforts across various functional areas. Your expertise will drive the development of innovative solutions and support our objectives for timely implementation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Build applications and APIs that streamline workflows and enhance existing HLT tools.

• Create tailored technical solutions for processing complex data types.

• Conduct research and integration of advanced Human Language Technology capabilities.

• Offer technical guidance to cross-functional teams, focusing on AI and HLT solutions.

• Assess language processing needs and propose innovative, efficient solutions.

• Prototype HLT systems or components according to prioritized missions.

• Evaluate technology solutions based on mission requirements, providing practical recommendations.

• Translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders through presentations and documentation.

• Lead project teams in addressing challenging HLT projects.

• Be a key advocate for HLT within both the customer and our organization.

• Mentor new employees on HLT practices and methodologies.

• Incorporate Leidos technology into HLT projects where applicable.

• Collaborate across teams to ensure high-quality translation and transcription support through HLT initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

• BS in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience or a Master's with 6+ years of experience. A Doctorate in a technical domain is a plus.

• 3+ years of experience with intelligence community translation fundamentals.

• Recent experience in deploying and training machine learning models.

• Proven ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

• Experience handling complex text and web data.

• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Proficiency in programming languages including Java, Python, C++, and bash command-line tools.

• Knowledge of machine learning tools like NLTK or SpaCy.

• Solid understanding of linguistics and grammar.

• Ability to tackle complex linguistic issues with innovative solutions.

• Experience with cloud computing tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).

• Knowledge of developing components and systems for Human Language Technology.

• Ability to employ modern machine learning techniques for language processing challenges.

• Exceptional communication skills to convey technical concepts to a varied audience.

• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic proficiency in one or more foreign languages.

• Experience in greenfield software development, particularly with API and software creation.

• Background in training machine translation or OCR models.

• Experience adapting open-source code for specific use cases.

• Knowledge of designing containers for software deployment across environments.

• Experience in the intelligence community.

• Familiarity with JavaScript or JSON.
