Job Summary and Qualifications

Develops and maintains systems to promote high levels of patient, employee and physician satisfaction; as well as external customer satisfaction. Assumes 24 hour accountability for operations of Labor & Delivery and Antepartum Service.  Responsible for assuring adequate staffing and maintaining appropriate productivity standards. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients in designated areas. Develops patient care processes utilizing the nursing process-assessment, care planning, implementation, and reassessment- for identified population per the Colorado Nurse Practice Act. Documents patient care,  coordinates interdisciplinary communication and care, participates on hospital committees, facilitate unit meetings, develops and implements unit specific competencies, annual performance of staff, supervises RN’s, Certified Scrub Technicians, and Unit Secretaries. Provides coaching and counseling for employees as appropriate. Monitors and addresses employee attendance. Develop strategic plans for OB Services including: program development, quality standards and improvements, patient safety and patient satisfaction initiatives. Demonstrate understanding of Joint Commission Standards. Supports and models facility and department values, policies, and procedures.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
