Lab Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. This role involves testing rocket propellants, running and configuring various testing procedures, and maintaining thorough documentation. If you have a passion for chemistry and a keen eye for detail, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing on rocket propellants, including strength, density, heat output, and burning rate.
• Perform ignition hazard tests such as impact, friction, spark, and heat.
• Carry out acceptance testing of ingredients used in propellants.
• Handle specimen collection and documentation.
• Operate small equipment and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Use Excel for data entry and maintaining records.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment.

Essential Skills

• Possession of a Site BATF License is required.
• Ability to recognize dangerous chemicals.
• Basic understanding of chemistry.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• High School Diploma.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with BATF and testing procedures.
• Strong organizational skills.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a manufacturing shop environment with a focus on safety. You will work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with voluntary overtime available usually from 5:00 am to 7:00 am or on Saturdays from 5:30 am to 11:30 am. The position involves supporting both production and lab operations, without the stress typically associated with production roles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FAIRFIELD, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
