nCDM Smith is seeking candidates for a jr. level Sediment Remediation Engineer position.
nThe candidate must have demonstrated expertise working with a team of engineers and scientists on sediment remediation projects for a variety of clients including those in the Federal and Public sector. Sediment remediation experience will be considered on an individual basis, but experience in the following bullets is preferred.
nRoles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
n• Providing expertise in evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and preparing sediment remediation designs for large riverine and coastal sites involving multiple stakeholders.
n• Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of sediment and contaminant transport, environmental site assessment, sampling technologies, cap modeling, and remedial action design.
n• Providing support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
n• Serving as CDM Smith’s task manager on various components of complicated sediments sites. This includes having the ability to assess and understand a problem, develop and communicate a technical strategy to the client, and interact effectively with CDM Smith subject matter experts.
n• Possessing an in-depth expertise in the various CERCLA process steps at sediment Superfund sites.
n• Serving as a technical liaison with the client, communicating complicated technical evaluations and designs to non-subject matter experts.
n• Leading other staff in preparing/reviewing/scrutinizing technical information to provide a document that is technically sound and that conforms to applicable regulations and policy.

nMinimum Qualifications:
nBachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

n• Team player, excellent written and verbal skills.
n• Client-focused and ability to partner with clients (mainly Federal and Public agencies).
n• Negotiation and presentation skills.
