HVAC Mechanic - Pay $50/hr

HVAC Technician Installation & Repair Specialist

We're hiring a skilled HVAC Technician to handle the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across a variety of facilities. This role demands expertise in refrigeration principles, piping systems, and structural configurations.

Primary Duties:

• Install and maintain climate control systems in residential units, labs, offices, kitchens, and commercial buildings.
• Secure compressors and condensers to designated surfaces using manual tools, following technical drawings and specifications.
• Construct and fit ductwork and system components using metal fabrication tools and welding gear.
• Position evaporator units within chassis or duct systems using appropriate hand tools.
• Shape and size tubing using specialized cutting and bending tools.
• Thread piping manually or with machines, then connect to refrigeration systems using fittings and soldering techniques.
• Integrate expansion and discharge valves into system circuits.
• Wire motors, compressors, and control panels to electrical sources.
• Fit air and water filtration units into completed systems.
• Charge systems with refrigerant and monitor gauges to ensure correct pressure levels.
• Calibrate system controls for optimal performance and efficiency.
• Conduct routine inspections and respond to service requests for HVAC, gas heating, hydronic systems, and DDS setups.
• Detect and repair gas leaks using diagnostic tools.
• Insulate piping with batting and secure using cement or wire.
• Replace faulty electrical components such as thermostats, switches, breakers, and wiring.
• Service air conditioning units ranging from fractional tonnage to large-scale systems up to 385 tons.
• Perform additional related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge in diagnosing and resolving HVAC issues.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures.
• Working knowledge of welding, pneumatic systems, engines, and transmissions.
• Skilled in using hand tools and interpreting technical schematics.
• At least 4 years of experience in HVAC/R system maintenance and equipment repair.
• Completion of two accredited vocational courses in refrigeration, air conditioning, and control systems.
• Certified for refrigerant handling (Class I & II).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving history.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with HVAC control software (e.g., HVAC PRO or similar platforms).
• Comfortable working with Windows-based systems for diagnostics and control.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.24 - $50.24/hr.
