Amergis Staffing School Instructional Aide

Amergis Staffing is currently seeking an ASL (American Sign Language) Fluent School Instructional Aides to assist a student 1:1 in a classroom with ASL translation and/or with student(s) actively learning ASL in the Orange County region for the upcoming school year.

Positions in this class are established to facilitate communication between deaf and hard-of-hearing students and educators through the use of sign language. Primary duties involve working with hearing impaired students who require use of sign language to interpret instruction of educators in classes, on the school campus, and various community settings at varying sign language competency levels of students.

The position involves supervision as well as utilization of language skills, mathematical skills, and reasoning skills, while also helping the teacher with planning and implementing lessons based on division and school objectives.

The Instructional Aide must be able to verbally communicate with the teacher, aides and students within the class. ***MUST BE FLUENT IN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE***

Position Details:

Monday Friday schedule

Average 28-30 hours a week (hours vary between 7:30am-4pm)

Pay Rate: $25/hour
