Heavy Highway Estimator - Civil Construction
We are seeking an experienced and driven Estimator to join a leading civil construction firm specializing in heavy highway projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in estimating and bidding on a wide range of infrastructure projects, including asphalt, concrete, and earthwork. The ideal candidate has a strong background in civil construction estimating and thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely estimates for multiple concurrent heavy highway projects
  
• Perform full-cycle estimating including take-offs, vendor/subcontractor solicitation, and bid reviews
  
• Collaborate with customers, engineers, vendors, and internal departments to understand project scope and ensure competitive bids
  
• Support project handoff, change order calculations, and post-job cost analysis
  
• Participate in job reviews to refine estimating strategies and improve performance
  

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy highway or related civil construction
  
• Proficiency in estimating software (B2W preferred) and digital tools such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management platforms
  
• Background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (degree or equivalent experience)
  
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  
• Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
  
• Familiarity with safety and environmental standards (OSHA, MSHA, etc.)
  

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of HMA/Concrete estimating, project management, and means & methods
  
• Experience with XBE, Spectrum, and Monday.com a plus
  
• High attention to detail and ethical decision-making
  
• Emotional intelligence and values-based leadership
