Heavy Equipment Mechanic (New Haven)

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and machinery
• Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot equipment failures
• Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational
• Repair or replace defective parts and components
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work
• Operate heavy machinery to test and assess equipment performance
• Follow safety protocols and standards during all work activities
• Collaborate with other team members to improve maintenance processes and efficiency
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Proficiency in equipment operation and maintenance
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with welding and fabrication
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in heavy equipment operation
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus
