Food Operations Manager 3
Sodexo is seeking a highly motivated Food Operations Manager 3 for their Culinary Center in Brooklyn, NY.
The Sodexo Culinary Center / Cook Chill Building services New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H), providing 15,000 meals daily to 11 acute care facilities, 4 long-term care locations, and 1 senior center.
The Food Operations Manager 3 will report to the General Manager, manage a team of 4 union employees, and ensure high quality food service for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in food operations management, team leadership, and operational efficiency in a strong unionized healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Have oversight of day-to-day operations
- Successfully coordinate all required tasks through subordinate managers, supervisors and frontline staff
- Deliver high quality food services including retail, catering and patient meal management operations
- Achieve company and client financial targets and goals
- Develop and maintain client and customer relationships
- Develop strategic plans
- Ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance
- Have daily interaction with patients, their families and clinical team to ensure patient satisfaction
- Create a positive environment
- Ensure Sodexo standards are met

What You Bring
- Have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively
- Have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
- Can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service
- Are enthusiastic and confident
- Ability to drive employee success to enhance the value of the food and nutrition team
- Prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) The Market Connection (TMC), Sodexo Menu Graphics (SMG), Cater Trax and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 3 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
