Position: Evening Floor Maintenance Technician

Compensation: $18/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM

Location: 172 Rutledge Ave, Charleston, SC 29403

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform specialized floor care tasks, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning.
• Safely operate various types of floor care equipment, such as auto scrubbers and burnishers.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of floors in public and private spaces, including hallways, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Adhere to safety standards and follow all policies regarding infection control, sanitation, and hazardous materials.
• Respond promptly to requests for floor care services and maintain communication with campus staff.
• Perform light janitorial duties such as trash removal when necessary.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify areas for improvement.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in floor care or janitorial services is a plus, but training will be provided.
• Ability to operate and maintain specialized floor care equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
• Comply with safety and quality standards consistently.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 75 pounds; stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Willingness to handle cleaning products and perform routine tasks daily.
• A criminal background check will be required.
