EPLAN Controls Designer

Controls Engineer

This is a 9-12 month project requiring an experienced EPLAN expert with strong controls engineering and electrical panel design capabilities. The role focuses on delivering high-quality documentation and design using EPLAN software.

Responsibilities

• Design and document electrical control panels in EPLAN.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
• Update and maintain project documentation.
• Troubleshoot design issues and support implementation.
• Communicate progress and blockers with stakeholders.

Essential Skills

• Extensive experience with EPLAN Electric P8 for electrical schematic design, documentation, and project structuring.
• Proficiency in managing symbol libraries, macros, templates, and database configurations.
• Hands-on experience designing and drafting electrical control panels from concept to completion.
• Strong understanding of control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation.
• Ability to interpret and create control schematics and troubleshoot control systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IEC and IEEE for compliance and quality assurance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with Siemens PLCSIM simulation tool.
• Experience with TIA Portal, Profinet, and Profisafe for broader controls integration.
• HMI development experience with WinCC Runtime.
• Detail-oriented, problem-solving, and strong communication skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Decatur, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
