We are seeking a Data Analytics Discipline Leader to leverage data analytics to enhance a firm's capabilities in environmental services. This role works across multiple technical practice areas to support marketing and business development initiatives related to environmental data analytics. The leader collaborates with discipline leaders, SMEs, and the environmental data analytics group to gather ideas and assess needs for data analytics, and coordinates with multi-disciplinary teams to design and implement analytics solutions. The leader also develops processes to evaluate ideas and initiatives within Business Technology to develop analytics tools and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations of available data analytics technologies and platforms to analyze environmental data across applications (e.g., water quality assessments, remedial investigations, remedial actions, and O&M of treatment systems).
- Assist with the technical sales, design, and delivery of data analytics solutions tailored for environmental applications.
- Collaborate with local, national, and international technical teams in business technology and data analytics.
- Work across multiple technical practice areas to leverage data analytics R&D activities and expand the firm’s capabilities in environmental services.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives related to environmental data analytics.
- Collaborate and compile ideas with discipline leaders, SMEs, and the environmental data analytics group to gather ideas and assess needs for data analytics.
- Coordinate efforts with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, designers, draftsmen, and technicians to design and implement effective data analytics solutions.
- Establish processes to evaluate ideas and initiatives within Business Technology for developing analytics tools and technologies.
- Manage intellectual property (IP) and R&D investments by reviewing current projects, identifying IP for protection, and prioritizing R&D investments.
- Work with and grow data analytics practitioners who have the desire or aptitude to develop data analytics skills.
- Navigate the competitive landscape and meet the growing demand for advanced data analytics solutions in the environmental sector.
- Market engagement: Identify conferences, working groups, and other activities to enhance technical visibility and promote capabilities to clients.
- Track business opportunities and client relationships for analytics.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Environmental Expertise: Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical engineering, science or related discipline. PE license or Licensed Professional Geologist or professional scientist registration/certification or Master’s degree in science or related discipline. Extensive understanding of environmental analytics. A degree in computer science or programming with environmental experience is also acceptable.
- Programming Proficiency: Proficient in Python or R.
- Software Development Experience: Experience developing software solutions, dashboards, and other analytics tools.
- IP Management: Experience in managing intellectual property.
- Educational Interest: Interest in teaching and developing education and advancement opportunities for mid- and junior-level staff.
- Travel: Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- Experience: 10 years of related experience.

Amount of Travel Required: 20%

Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of governance practices, organization design principles, accounting, finance, supply chain management, and organization management. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to understand highly complex materials.

Pay Range Minimum: $90,605
Pay Range Maximum: $158,579
Additional Compensation: Bonuses are discretionary and may not apply.
Work Location Options: Hybrid options may be considered.
Driver's License Requirements: An appropriate and valid driver’s license is required.
