In our 1:1 ABA setting, you will directly engage with children (ages 18 months to 8 years) utilizing ethical, evidence-based ABA techniques in a nurturing, center-based atmosphere. Responsibilities of a Behavioral Support Specialist
- Implement one-on-one ABA therapy to assist children with Autism in achieving their goals by reading and executing treatment plans, collecting data, documenting sessions, and incorporating feedback from supervisors during observations.
- Facilitate the development of young children through enjoyable and engaging therapeutic activities.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team to enhance treatment effectiveness, safety, and a positive work atmosphere.
- Interact actively with children through a range of playful activities including dance, singing, reading, and imaginative play, ensuring a joyful experience.
- Communicate effectively and positively with various stakeholders (e.g., peers, families, supervisors) to coordinate activities, celebrate achievements, and express personal needs.
Job Requirements
- Physical capability to lift and move children in a dynamic environment, including lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, squatting, and quick movements.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment that encourages stimulation and enjoyment for the children.
- Ability to multitask while assessing priorities and ensuring safety in various situations.
- Work collaboratively with the center team and, at times, travel to nearby locations for additional support.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Complete the RBT certification process within 20 days of employment by passing a 40-hour training curriculum and hands-on competency assessment, and successfully registering and passing the board's exam.

Pay ranges based on experience and education:
- Associates/High School: $20.00 - $24.00
- Bachelors: $20.00 - $25.50
- Masters: $20.00 - $28.00
Entry-level candidates can earn their first raise upon certification as RBT, typically within 21 days.
Preferred Experience
- Childcare (nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, tutor, etc.)
- Experience in mental health or advocacy roles (QMHP, behavioral health technicians)
- Camp counselors, volunteers, or Sunday school teachers
- Degrees in teaching, special education, sociology, psychology, or related fields
- Experience as paraprofessionals, direct support, or life skills assistants
- A passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
