Our team is looking for a dynamic EPM to help build and run services that millions of customers use every day. We are looking for star performers to drive projects for various areas of Apple Cloud Infrastructure. You’ll be partnered with a team whose mission it is to build, maintain and improve Apple’s most critical cloud services. ABOUT YOU: You are an ambitious individual who is proactive and able to work under minimal supervision at a detailed level while taking account of interdependencies at higher levels. Can you coordinate multiple projects across multiple locations? We need someone with excellent written and interpersonal skills who pays attention to the details and is highly organized. You have experience running a complex set of software deliverables with many interdependencies and have a successful track record being a phenomenal partner within teams and across organizations in engineering, design, and leadership. Description

The Cloud Infrastructure team, as part of the Apple Services Engineering team, is seeking an extraordinary engineering program manager (EPM) to deliver innovative product solutions that will shape the future of large scale infrastructure at Apple. You'll partner with a diverse set of teams across Apple to provide them with groundbreaking infrastructure that operates at substantial scale and use open source technologies such as Kubernetes along with proprietary systems.

We're a fast paced organization with high-reaching goals, a large user base, and the autonomy to build the future of native Cloud infrastructure for all of Apple. Teams across Apple rely on us for infrastructure that help them build services that scale globally, are highly available, and "just work". You'll need a strong background in program and project management complemented by your technical abilities.

Responsibilities

  Program Planning & Definition: Collaborate with engineering leads, product managers, and other stakeholders to define program scope, objectives, deliverables, and technical requirements. Develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation.

  Execution & Tracking: Drive program execution across multiple engineering disciplines and teams. Monitor progress against the plan, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure timely delivery of milestones. Manage changes to the program scope, schedule, and costs.

  Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact and communication hub for assigned engineering programs. Facilitate regular cross-functional meetings, status updates, and program reviews.

  Communication and Reporting: Provide clear and regular updates to stakeholders and senior leadership on program status, progress, risks and key metrics

  Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and dependencies. Develop contingency plans and work with teams to resolve blockers and navigate technical challenges.

  Stakeholder Management: Build strong working relationships and foster collaboration between engineering teams and other departments (Product, Design, Marketing, Sales, Support, etc.). Ensure alignment on program goals and priorities.

  Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering program management processes, tools, and best practices within the organization. Champion efficient workflows and effective collaboration.

  Technical Acumen: Maintain a solid understanding of the technical challenges and architecture involved in the programs you manage to effectively facilitate technical discussions and decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

n
• n

  10+ years experience in technical program management, project management, or as an engineer or supply chain analyst within a technology company (software, hardware, or systems).

  n

• n

  Experience using agile methodology.

  n
n
• n

  Product lifecycle management and experience delivering customer tools.

  n
n
• n

  Executive reporting and communications including presentations, status updates and key metrics.

• n

  Capacity Management domain experience.

  n
n

  PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

  Prior hands-on experience as a software developer, hardware engineer, or systems engineer.

  Proven track record of successfully managing complex, cross-functional engineering projects or programs from initiation to completion.

  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences (technical and non-technical).

  Experience with large-scale product development and release processes.

  Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive decisions.

  Experience presenting program status and strategy to executive leadership.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $290,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
