Job Description: Emergency Medicine Physician

Location: Duluth, MN / Regional EDs

We are a regional Emergency Medicine team based in beautiful Duluth, MN, recognized by Outdoor Magazine as the best outside town in America and by Livability as one of the top-10 remote-ready cities in the US. Duluth features a vibrant medical community and a stunning harbor city setting. Due to upcoming retirements and expansion, we are seeking new partners to join our team, emphasizing excellence in patient care and camaraderie.

You will enjoy varied practice shifts, working approximately half in Duluth and half at regional EDs, with flexible scheduling among team members. Position Details:

• Start date: Goal to fill in 2026
• Annual ED volume of 42,000 patients in a state-of-the-art 40-bed ED
• Access to a full spectrum of specialists including PICU/NICU, pediatric subspecialists, neuro-interventional, STEMI teams
• Shift structure: 8-9 hours with double/triple physician coverage and APP support, 7 days/week
• Admit to St. Mary's Medical Center, a 330-bed Level I Trauma Center with adult and pediatric specialties
• Opportunity to teach residents and medical students
• Supportive environment with experienced and new staff, collaborative consultants, and excellent nursing teams
• Robust behavioral health resources including psychiatry, social work, and behavioral health techs

Regional Sites: Aurora, Virginia, Moose Lake, Sandstone, Deer River, Superior WI

• Annual ED volumes of 3,500 to 12,000 patients
• Level IV trauma centers; patients transferred to Duluth for complex needs
• Flexible scheduling: work in Duluth and rural sites, with varied shift lengths (12-hour, 24-hour options)
• Telemedicine support for stroke, psychiatry, NICU, hospice, cardiology

Requirements:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Excellent team player, capable of collaborating with ED staff, consultants, and patients
• Strong commitment to regional patient care

Compensation: $240.12/hour, with potential bonuses, incentives, or production-based pay
