Embedded Firmware Engineer

Our client, a leading company in the Oil & Gas industrial embedded systems and control technology sector , is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join their team. As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will lead firmware development from prototype to production, enabling real-time communication, control, and diagnostics for industrial devices used in rugged oil and gas environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong embedded programming skills, hardware/software integration experience, and collaborative problem-solving abilities to support a high-performing engineering team.

What's the Job?

  Design and implement firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors

  n

• n

  Integrate low-level hardware drivers for ADCs, DACs, PWM, UART, SPI, I2C, and other peripherals

  n

• n

  Develop real-time code for data acquisition, system control, and industrial communication protocols

  n
n
• n

  Collaborate with hardware engineers to support hardware/software co-design and validation

  n
n
• n

  Debug and optimize embedded systems using oscilloscopes, JTAG tools, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment

  n
n
• n

  Support wireless and wired communication stacks (BLE, Wi-Fi, RS-232, CAN, etc.)

  n
n
• n

  Ensure firmware aligns with industry standards for safety, performance, and emissions compliance

  n

• n

  Provide technical assistance for Sales, Production, and Service teams

  n
n
• n

  Support the production of designed parts and assemblies

  n
n
• n

  Maintain assigned equipment and work areas according to company standards

  n
n

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline

  n

• n

  Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded firmware development for hardware systems

  n

• n

  Strong knowledge of real-time embedded systems, RTOS, or bare-metal programming

  n
n
• n

  Solid understanding of hardware integration and circuit-level debugging

  n
n
• n

  Experience with industrial protocols and sensor/control systems

  n
n
• n

  Familiarity with regulatory compliance and best practices for firmware lifecycle management

  n
n
• n

  Extensive programming skills, effective communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
