Electrician - Sign Shop

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sign Shop Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for UL wiring and documenting, ensuring all electrical components of our signs meet safety and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform UL wiring for various types of signs, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Document all wiring processes and procedures accurately.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in signs.
• Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in electrical systems and UL requirements.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Certificate(s) or License(s): Technical Certification in electrical systems preferred.
• Years of experience: 3-5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in a sign shop or similar environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Strong knowledge of UL wiring standards and electrical codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position is based in a fabrication shop environment and may require occasional travel to project sites.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly walks, and stands.
Occasionally sits, does computer work, and lifts up to 50 lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :
Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
