nBurns & McDonnell's Power Global Practice is seeking to hire experienced electrical engineers to our Nuclear team focusing on both operating Nuclear Power Plants and new nuclear power projects, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), microreactors and Advanced Reactors. Our Nuclear team has domestic and international experience providing consulting, design, analysis, and pre-construction planning services for operating nuclear power plants, nuclear refurbishments, as well as new SMRs and advanced reactors. We deliver solutions for these and other challenging projects every day.
nAs an electrical engineer, you will serve as part of our design team with the ability to work on a full range of projects in engineering, procurement, and construction management related to the design, operation, maintenance, modification, and licensing of nuclear generating stations.
nResponsibilities:

Perform and/or lead electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.

Support business development efforts by providing level of effort estimates for proposals and capabilities/qualifications summaries.
n n - n
Interface with clients on projects to communicate progress, resolve comments and/or open items, and provide in-person presence for meetings or site technical support.
n n - n
Manage small project budgets and schedules for technical deliverables.
n n - n
Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.

Design electrical components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.

Applies strong knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.

Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers.
n n - n
Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.
n n - n
Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.

Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
n n - n
Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
n n - n
A Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.
n n - n
3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
n n - n
Successful completion of the Fundamental of Engineering exam, or EIT preferred; PE preferred.
n n - n
Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
n n - n
Experience with nuclear plant electrical power design, standard design process, plant modification packages, configuration management, and ASME NQA-1 (safety-related) requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n n - n
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
n n - n
Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
n n - n
Strong computer skills (e.g., ETAP, PowerTools, Microsoft Office Suite)
n n - n
Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs and other analysis programs.

Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
n n
This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
