Job Title: Electrician II

Job Summary

A successful candidate will be required to assist and when possible work solo on the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the plant including motors, generators, transformers, controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cables and conduits, communicating, recording and alarm systems under the guidance of a Level 1 Electrician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  A successful candidate will be required to assist and when possible work solo on the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the plant including motors, generators, transformers, controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cables and conduits, communicating, recording and alarm systems under the guidance of a Level 1 Electrician

  Use various types of testing equipment to locate and correct malfunctions

  n

• n

  Work on energized circuits when required (Under NFPA Safety Guidelines)

  n

• n

  May make functional tests to determine that the electricity powered or electrically controlled machines or equipment operate properly after installation or repair

• n

  Determine horsepower requirements, line loads, material requirements, etc.

  n

• n

  Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings

  n
n
• n

  Performs preventative maintenance tasking on all electrical utilities and equipment

  n
n
• n

  May be assigned to specialized work within the classification

  n
n
• n

  Will be assisted by Level 1 Electrician as need and have completed work verified by supervisor or Level 1 Electrician

  Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities

  n

• n

  Maintain, organize, and control inventory supplies tools and equipment

  n
n
• n

  Clean and organize shop area. Maintain inventory of spare parts and material. Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance work

  n

• n

  Complete Safety Training requirements

  n
n

Qualifications:

n
• n

  HS Diploma and must be successfully enrolled in and/or completed accredited technical school

  n
n
• n

  One to Three (3) years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  n
n
• n

  Valid Drivers License

  n
n
• n

  Achieved Fork truck and aerial lift equipment certification or ability to obtain

  n
n
• n

  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, Ability log work orders. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization

  n

• n

  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions to practical situations, and read a tape measure.

  Must be able to utilize mobile communication devices (ie: iPad, Phone, and email)

• n

  Familiar with Lock Out Tag Out procedures

   Working at Heights: Electricians may need to work at heights, such as on scaffolding or elevated platforms, to install or repair electrical systems. This demands comfort and safety adherence in elevated positions.

   Lifting and Carrying: Moving heavy equipment, materials, and tools is a regular part of the job. This can involve lifting objects weighing anywhere from a few pounds to over 50 pounds.

   Vision and Hearing: Good vision and hearing are crucial for identifying issues, reading diagrams, and following safety protocols.

   Safety Protocols: The ability to follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent workplace accidents or injuries is essential. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and practicing safe work habits.

   Tolerance to Environmental Conditions: Electricians may work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, confined spaces, or exposure to dust and noise.
