We are looking for a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) Engineer to join our team and take a lead role in the design and execution of projects across the Oil & Gas and Utility sectors. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who can provide technical direction, review design work, coordinate across disciplines, and support client and vendor interactions throughout all phases of a project.

In this role, you'll be responsible for leading the development of complete electrical and I&C design packages, supporting system studies and equipment specification, and mentoring less experienced team members. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and discipline leads to deliver high-quality, practical solutions on a range of facility and infrastructure projects.

This is a hands-on design role with opportunities to grow into increased leadership, client engagement, and project responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering

  Lead the development and review of comprehensive electrical drawing packages, including:

  One-line diagrams, electrical area classification plans, grounding layouts, lighting plans, and raceway/conduit routing plans.

  Conduit and cable schedules, power plans, equipment layouts, and interconnection diagrams.

  n
n
• n

  Select, specify and review electrical equipment including switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, UPS, PDCs, and power panels.

  n
n
• n

  Perform and oversee electrical system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc-flash, and coordination using ETAP or SKM.

  n
n
• n

  Execute and validate electrical calculations (e.g., cable sizing, voltage drop, conduit sizing/fill, short circuit levels).

  n
n
• n

  Review and approve vendor submittals, BOMs, and support equipment procurement.

  n
n
• n

  Provide technical direction for junior engineers and designers on electrical scope.Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)

• n

  Oversee development of complete I&C design packages, including:

  n

• n

  Instrument location plans, instrument lists, and I/O lists.

  n
n
• n

  Loop diagrams, ladder diagrams, and wiring diagrams.

  n

• n

  Control panel layouts, terminal diagrams, and panel BOMs.

  n
n
• n

  P&IDs in collaboration with process and mechanical teams.

  n
n
• n

  Review and guide development of instrument datasheets, control philosophies, and cause & effect matrices.

  n

• n

  Specify and validate design for PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, instrumentation, and control system components.

  n
n
• n

  Provide oversight on network architecture and industrial protocol selection (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP).

  n

• n

  Mentor I&C team members on panel design, loop development, and control strategy implementation.

  n
n
• n

  Support FAT/SAT documentation and field integration planning.

  n
n
• n

  Familiarity with I&C design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, SPI (Intools), or similar preferred. Project Development & General Assignments

  Lead development of conceptual designs, execution strategies, and technical portions of proposals.

• n

  Support or lead scope development, cost estimating, and schedule planning.

  n

• n

  Conduct and lead site walks to gather field data and evaluate design constraints.

• n

  Participate in or lead HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk or safety reviews.

  n
n
• n

  Maintain design quality through internal QA/QC reviews, checklist compliance, and redline resolution.

  n

• n

  Serve as technical liaison for clients and vendors during design and procurement phases.

  n
n
• n

  Mentor junior engineers, check their work, and provide feedback for technical growth.

  n
n
• n

  Contribute to development and improvement of internal design standards, tools, and templates.

  n
n
• n

  Support or lead construction support, including RFI responses, as-built drawing reviews, and commissioning assistance.

Qualifications

  Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Or,

  n

  Bachelor Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred. Or,

  n
n
• n

  Master Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.

  n
n
• n

  Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

  n
n
• n

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

• n

  Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

  n

• n

  Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)

• n

  Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs and other analysis programs.

  Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.

  Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred.

Compensation

$115, ,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
