Oracle, a Fortune 100 information technology company, is seeking a Director of State and Local Government Affairs. The role reports to the Vice President of State Government Affairs and is based in the Midwest, ideally the Chicago, IL area.

Responsibilities

• Represent Oracle's interests before state and local government officials to advance company policy priorities and support data center project delivery.
• Work with corporate leadership and business units to align policy initiatives with business objectives.
• Represent the state and local government affairs team in third‑party groups and events.
• Monitor state and local policy that impacts Oracle and maintain a deep understanding of company operations to assess external policy implications.
• Develop and execute strategies to shape complex initiatives and solutions on behalf of the organization.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

• Minimum 5 years of public policy experience at the state and local level with a thorough understanding of technology policy.
• Established relationships with state and local officials across executive, legislative, regulatory, and municipal levels.
• Ability to translate the impact of state and local policy into business interests and drive complex initiatives.
• Strong self‑direction with proven ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written, oral, and analytical communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for policymakers.
• Experience briefing senior‑level executives and managing contract lobbyists or external resources.
• Commitment to the highest integrity and adherence to applicable laws and company values.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Location

Midwest, United States – preferably Chicago, IL area.

Compensation

U.S. Hiring Range: $79,100 – $158,200 per year (may include bonus and equity).
