Director of Operations

Overview

Director of Operations role at Vaco by Highspring . Location: Columbus or Cleveland, OH area. This is a hands-on, ground-floor opportunity to build and lead a non-skilled home care agency from the ground up.

Base pay range: $105,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr .

Responsibilities

• Agency Buildout: Serve as the sole on-site presence, setting up the office, leasing space, coordinating utilities, and overseeing contractors for build-out projects.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, handle patient and caregiver inquiries, onboarding of clients and HHAs, and implement core systems.
• System Implementation & Management: Implement and manage home care software (e.g., HHA Exchange for scheduling and billing, RingCentral) and applicant tracking software (e.g., Employ).
• Growth & Business Development: Drive patient growth (aiming for ~2 new patients per month) and support future in-house marketing relationships with hospitals, facilities, and community centers.
• Staffing & Recruitment: Lead recruitment and onboarding of HHAs from first contact to employment.
• Licensing & Compliance: Facilitate contracting and credentialing with additional MCOs with consultant support to expand into secondary markets.
• Training & Development: Develop and rollout an employee handbook and onboarding/orientation process, including HHA Exchange training.
• Financial Oversight (Operational): Provide operational insight into financial analytics and P&L from an operational perspective (financial statements managed by an outsourced billing company).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive Home Care Operations experience, with background in roles such as Intake Coordinator or Director of Intake, and a comprehensive understanding of the business.
• Proven experience running a non-skilled Home Care agency or a senior leadership role in a similar setting.
• Direct experience with HHA Exchange software is preferred.
• Resourceful, driven, hands-on professional who can take initiative and problem-solve creatively.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
