Diesel Mechanic (2nd Shift 4pm-4am) Waxahachie, Texas
Join Waste Connections as a Diesel Mechanic and keep our fleet running strong! We're hiring experienced techs to perform maintenance and repairs on garbage truckscovering everything from hydraulics and electrical to engine systems. This is a hands-on, outdoor role for someone who takes pride in their work and values safety.
What We Offer:
- $25.00$30.00/hour based on experience Estimated at $72,000.00-$98,000.00 Per Year
- $150/month tool allowance + annual boot stipend
- Full benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K match, Life Insurance)
- Consistent hours: 5060 hrs/week, MonFri + some Saturdays
- Year-round stability + safety-first culture
What You'll Do:
- Perform preventative maintenance & inspections
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues
- Handle on-road breakdowns and emergency calls
- Keep shop clean, organized, and safe
- Accurately document all work performed
Requirements:
- 3+ years of diesel or heavy truck experience
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- ASE cert and CDL (A or B) a strong plus
- Reliable, hard-working, and safety-minded
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
