bout the Facility - Mescalero Service Unit
The Mescalero Service Unit, operated by the Indian Health Service, provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services to the Mescalero Apache Tribe or another Native American community. These services encompass primary care, dental care, behavioral health support, public health programs, emergency and urgent care, maternal and child health services, chronic disease management, pharmacy services, and optometry services.

Diagnostic Radiology Technician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Diagnostic Radiologic Technician shall provide diagnostic imaging radiologic services in Radiography, in a competent and professional manner assigned by the Supervisor of Medical Imaging Services.
• Provide emergency coverage when short-staffed as assigned.
• Duties and responsibilities may encompass Out-Patient, In-Patient, Urgent Care, and Emergency Room departments.
• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as Radiologic examinations.
• Provides information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs.
• Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
• Maintaining and operating imaging equipment.
• Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
• Prepares patients for radiological procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into a specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Perform imaging examinations that will be responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced.

Diagnostic Radiology Technician - REQUIREMENTS

• ssociate's or bachelor's degree from a diagnostic radiologic technology program.
• Shall have a minimum of two years of current work experience.
• Must be familiar with all radiographic diagnostic fluoroscopy, surgery procedures, portable (including C-Arm), and routine general diagnostic exams.
• Must have certification by the ARRT.
