Design Engineering Manager

We are seeking a hands-on engineering leader to manage a team dedicated to enhancing existing products. This role focuses on ensuring designs remain reliable, cost-effective, and compliant with current regulations. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing and customer support teams to address challenges and maintain the seamless operation of our products.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects aimed at improving product designs and reducing costs.
• Guide a team of engineers in supporting production and addressing field issues.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges.
• Ensure products meet safety and certification standards.
• Assist customers with technical solutions and updates.
• Maintain accurate and organized design documentation.
• Enhance engineering tools and processes.
• Mentor engineers to develop their skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering.
• 9+ years of engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of experience in managing engineers or leading technical teams.
• Strong experience in product design and mechanical analysis.
• Experience in improving cost, quality, and performance.
• Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks preferred), PLM/PDM systems, and compliance processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Passionate about aerospace.
• Proven track record of driving cost, quality, and performance improvements.
• Experience in CAD management, redlining, 3D design, equipment layout, and document control management.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
