Design Engineer

Our client, an Industrial Mobile Equipment manufacturing company, is seeking several Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team. As a DesignEngineer, you will be part of the Product Engineering Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience inventing, designing, documenting, building and testing new solutions for the assigned industry using Solidworks CAD tools

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Pella, IA

Pay: $30-$40/hr plus OT, contract benefits

Key Responsibilities

1. n

   Design and detail purchased items, machining, weld and assembly prints using SolidWorks software for manufacturability, cost effectiveness and safety.

3. n

   Support, supervise and assist Engineering Technicians with all aspects of building and testing prototypes. Supervise assigned personnel in performance of their duties such that performance exceeds or meets expectations.

4. n

   Analyze production issues and create solutions.

   n
n
5. n

   Develop bill of materials (BOM).

   n
n

Requirements

• n

  Knowledge in the FEA, hydraulics, electronics, statistics and strength of materials, durability and serviceability of products.

• n

  Ability to create robust design, identify changes early in the design progress and to recognize design commonality.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers and maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers.

  n

• n

  Ability to operate simple mechanics tools and wrenches, assembly hand tools, drill press, lathe, band saw and assembly power tools.

  n

• n

  Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills.
