The Data and Reporting Professional 2 generates ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts. The Data and Reporting Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Data and Reporting Professional II generates ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using system tools and databases or data warehouse queries and scripts. The Data and Reporting Professional II integrates data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements. The Data and Reporting Professional II will need to be able to work with modern tools and technology in both a development and administrative function.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree

  • Less than 5 years of technical experience in data management, modeling and analysis

  • Intermediate data transformation and extraction skills (T-SQL, PL-SQL, Spark SQL, PySpark, or ability to learn other ETL scripting languages)

  • Intermediate experience in curating data to ensure quality and fit to purpose use for downstream users and tools

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

  • Some experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations

  • Some experience working with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)

  • Some experience developing Business Intelligence tools and solutions. (Qlik, Power BI)

  • Ability to troubleshoot and test end-to-end reporting solutions

  • Fundamental understanding of data modeling (Relational, star schema, non-relational)

  • Fundamental understanding of automation and scheduling of data and BI tool refreshes (Workbook development, CI/CD Pipelines)

  • Ability to perform at a high level in a remote work environment

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience writing/troubleshooting/testing SQL or comparable scripting/ETL languages

  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing Business Intelligence tools and solutions (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake)

  • In-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.

  • Experience with data mining, wrangling and transformation

  • Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions

  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data

  • Fundamental understanding of shared code development and GIT

  • Some experience working in an agile team (SAFe, SCRUM, Kanban)

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$60,800 - $82,900 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
