Cytology Supervisor

We are seeking a Cytology Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the cytology department, ensuring efficient workflow, quality performance, and compliance with regulatory standards. The supervisor will lead a team, provide technical oversight, and manage staffing, scheduling, and development, while maintaining high-quality technical standards and turnaround times.
Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily operations of the cytology department, including staff hiring, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
• Perform cytotechnologist duties as needed.
• Manage workflow, resource allocation, and scheduling to meet established goals.
• Provide staff development and feedback to enhance performance.
• Oversee the procurement of supplies and equipment, ensuring budgetary adherence and efficiency.
• Offer technical oversight and problem-solving for workflow and process improvements.
• Monitor specimen testing and ensure compliance with quality assurance and turnaround time goals.
• Ensure regulatory compliance through documentation, audits, and corrective actions.
• Interact with internal and external customers regarding sample handling and issue resolution.
• Assist with updating departmental standard operating procedures and ensuring implementation of departmental goals.

• Bachelor's degree
• Cytotechnologist (ASCP) Certification
