Customer Relations Associate

The Customer Relations Associate performs various Customer Service activities, including greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and direction to customers.

Essential functions include securing all firearms brought into the store with trigger locks, checking in all vendor representatives, completing the necessary visitor log information, and controlling visitor badges. The role also supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. Other duties include greeting all customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner, handling customer's merchandise returns, completing refund/exchange paperwork, sorting returns by category, selling appropriate Hunting and Fishing Licenses, handling and administering all incentive and reward programs, remaining product knowledgeable, and remaining aware of advertised sales. The associate also keeps the work area clean, neat, and well-stocked with supplies, follows all company policies and procedures, and provides a legendary experience for every customer by assisting customers in making buying decisions.

Experience/qualifications include a minimum degree of a high school diploma or equivalent experience. Knowledge, skills, and ability include the ability to calculate figures, communicate in a friendly and professional manner, establish and maintain effective working relationships, operate a computerized Point of Sale register system, and meet physical requirements such as standing, walking, communicating, repeating motions, ascending or descending ladders, working in various temperatures, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds or more.

Independent judgment is required to perform tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. The associate chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems and often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
